It all starts with you

Juilliard aims to develop true contemporary dancers, trained equally in classical ballet and modern dance. In our four-year dance program—leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts—you’ll learn the great traditions of both past and present. The emphasis is on performance; as a Juilliard dancer, you’ll enjoy unparalleled opportunities to work with today’s leading choreographers and perform both new work and repertory. Located at Lincoln Center in New York City—the arts capital of the nation—Juilliard prepares dancers for all the possibilities that lie ahead.

“Juilliard is known for choosing the best of the best—putting yourself in that group can only make you grow. You never know whom you're going to run into; somewhere in that group is one of the next great choreographers, or someone who's going to be a great teacher, a superb dancer, a brilliant actor. Being with that kind of energy, being with people who have that kind of ambition and who are going places, strengthens you, enriches you, and you will form bonds with some of them that you will take way beyond Juilliard.”
Robert Battle Class of 1994; artistic director of Alvin Ailey
